When it comes to buying or selling a business we are able to provide a team which is second to none in terms of strength in depth and experience in completing transactions. We have an exceptional reputation in the corporate finance market for our deal-making activities and getting the deal done, with over 200 corporate finance transactions completed last year. Our corporate team has more than 40 lawyers, including over 20 partners with extensive transactional experience. There are not many issues which we have not had to face before. For many of our clients, their deal may be the largest single transaction they are ever involved in. Others are financial institutions, multi-national companies or professionals, regularly involved in corporate finance transactions. We believe that the key to our success is that, whatever the size of the deal, our clients receive the same level of partner-led service, providing commercial legal advice, focused on understanding and delivering their needs. Our corporate team completes more than 20 deals each and every month, whether acting for seller, buyer or funder. This provides a wealth of experience and knowledge as to how best to manage the process of buying or selling a business and delivering a satisfactory completion. We take the time to get to know our clients, their businesses and personal aims. We aim to build long-term relationships, providing commercial as well as legal advice. This approach has helped us to grow with our clients. Each transaction is led by a dedicated partner, who will lead the client through a challenging process. Their experience can help guide clients through the complexity of a deal and enable them to enjoy the experience as well. The quality and experience of our service has been recognised by a number of awards including: - Voted by the Midlands corporate finance community as the leading Corporate Law Firm in the 2006 Midlands Business Insider Dealmaker Awards, for the third year running; and
- Ranked first in the 2005 Scottish Business Insider tables for the number of deals completed.
As part of our service to clients, we are keeping them informed of the latest developments in the implementation of the Companies Act 2006, the most important and wide ranging reform of company law in the UK for over 20 years. Our briefing notes and seminars will guide you through the forthcoming changes by explaining the practical implications for all company officers, shareholders and in-house lawyers in clear and straightforward terms. In order to view our library of briefing notes on company reform, please click on the link below, or go to the publications section. More publications will be added to the site on a regular basis during the coming months. Details of the Companies Act 2006 seminars will be listed in the events section in the near future.
